Kyle Fuller

What is a catch in the NFL? No one knows

The old catch rule poked its head up again in Week 6.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate scored, but Chicago Bears cornerback¬†Kyle Fuller appeared to rip the ball out of Tate’s hand as he crossed the goal line. The play was ruled an interception on the field, but a replay review determined Tate scored before the turnover — a bit of a bizarre ruling after touchdowns by Devonta Freeman and Tyler Eifert were overturned when they lost control of the ball at the goal line.

Then again, it’s the catch rule, so that’s pretty much business as usual.
